I and my BH have a few of the three LED bulb windup torches; we keep some round the house for power cuts, in the car encase of emergences and with our camping gear. Because of the no batteries we don’t have to be concerned about dead touches when we need them and they are cheep.
When camping under canvas we tend to use a multi fuel lantern for light (it also throws off heat that can be useful on those early or late session camping trips) but we have found the windup torches great for finding our way round sites, illuminating to see were you are going but not flooding the area like the search light in the ‘Great Escape’ keeping others awake.
The only problem is it steps through switch one LED on/off, switch two LED on/off or switch all three LED bulb on/off, so if you just had three on it reverts back to one LED bulb.
