Hiya Angelcake, your PMA  (positive mantal attitude) is great.

OK loke most have said on here they have various health problems,i'm 1 of them.I too had many friends say i wouldn't manage(their all wrong)

!st work out your basic needs ie tent ,do you need to be able to pitch solo and even on a rough day can i do this?

Sleeping...what are my needs.... something high, firm etc

Cooking......

Chair.............most important, although recommendations are good all body shapes and needs are differant you need to physiacally try them out.

Go with maybe a garden camp, but a meet does sound really exciting.

Just remember every day won't be the same 1 day you can take in the area but another you might need to chill around camp with a good book.

Sounds like your attitude is more than set,i wish you all the luck i love it.

This forum is great for help, advice and support and best of all it's free.

Just wanted to add that I also think the sleeping thing is very different for different people.

My OH broke his back & has a lot of spinal damage & suffers arthritic pain (lots of other bits broke too) now he actually does not get on with camp beds at all, he finds it an air bed better. He also finds getting off camp beds difficult (& a bit scary - tends to `tip') he rolls off the air bed and gets on to his kness then all fours next. From there sometimes he has a problem - that's where I come in as a sort of `prop' !

Thanks for your replies. Have got 2 full base quechua? from decathlon in Feb. tried out in shop and managed to put up[easy] take down [need more practice] . Will go to park to try again in few weeks. Life so very busy at the mo no time to go! As i live in London i hope to start end may/june and stay local[ish] .Still got to get cooking/seating sorted. I have 2 intex airbeds 1sgl  1dub, both are great for me. Single has a leak which i am trying to find, if not I well buy new one.

?when i reply to your replies do they appear for all to view  or do you have to look to see if I've replied. I really not sure how these things work. My original thread was called being discouraged, M
