I'm right with you with the nearly 11 year olds stressing with their sats. Yes the unions might have voted to scrap them this year but teachers are deciding themselves, and ours have decided to keep them. My eldest looks probably to have aspergers, but we're "in the system" so who knows when we'll get any kind of diagnosis. He is totally and utterly not coping at all with school at this moment in time and he's thoroughly miserable :( He's coming out of school for secondary, no way would he cope with that - home education is our plan for him.

Anyhow I'm hoping to get away at the start of half term (his bday that week) so hopefully that'll be nice. He loves camping as he's got freedom to play whatever he wants to and I think removing him from the computer/wii etc is really good for him, makes him get out more.

Camping is still not an overly acceptable solution for our son (PDA and Aspergers)but he does like to use his dyson handheld to vacuum the carpet! It's difficult when all the other children on the site are at the play park etc and you know that it will be a hot bed of angst! A bike helps to get him on small adventures, but he also can go into 'Aspergers Policeman' mode! Family games (monopoly) work well when it rains!

We had a diagnosis at the Ravenshead Elizabeth Newson centre (near mansfield) and he now goes to school in nottingham, but it is so very worth it. Yes, details would be great, thank you!
