Sports hold-all, a big one usually takes clothes for all 4 of us for a weekend. Just got some vac bags from Dunhelms. Used these for towels, fleeces, pillows and sleeping bags, it amazed me how much space they've saved me, well impressed!

I had one summer of disorganisation and could not stand another!!! this year have a new tent with wardrobe space.....

I could not cope with more clothes and mess so have also bought a super flat pack tent storage system and a wardrobe which has a cover and a top shelf...heaven

It may take me the whole hols to get it all up....

but the potential is there for happy clothes finding...by the way we use Ikea bags to transport the clothes!!!!

Also last year took toooooo many shoes.......this year crocs and wellies I promise!!!!not!!!

I give the kids small backpacks and the problem of them turfing it all out to find something is minimized by rolling their clothes (especially t shirts) and putting an elastic band around it. That way they can kind of see what they are looking for more easily. I do that with my stuff too. Maybe i'm odd though!

I've been toying with the idea of storage boxes with lids this year, one for each of us, straight out of car, into tent, no bags hanging around and no unpacking.....well that's the plan. OH thinks they will take up too much room in the car,miserable so and so.

I definitely think this is the way to go.. With the folding crates I find they stack or I lay them out an put other stuff on top. So much less work - give me more time to set up everything else. I was really tempted by the camping wardrobes but resisted as it is just another thing to set up.

We Put all our clothes in black bags and into our rook box, that way it takes up less space. when on camp we have a camping wardrobe to put them into.

hi,

erm... i can't do weekend camping trips due to work etc. so we only ever go away for week-long holidays, and usually end up filling a large holdall on wheels.

but we are going for 2 weeks this year what do i do? take twice as much stuff? or be prepared to give some things a bit of a wash?

Well, we just take one hold-all for all four of us! BUT I do wash most days. If I keep on top of it, it takes me 10-15mins max to hand wash the cloths from the day before, and usually manage to get them dry. I know this may seem a lot of hassle to some, but it is something I have always done. So I usually pack around 4 sets of clothes each (to allow for wet days when cant get it dry as quick!) and just make sure the 4 sets of clothes can mix & match well!! By the end of a long break (9days the longest) I get a bit sick of the same to wear clothes over and over!! I also have a small rotary line for drying on which helps!

I also can not bear dirty washing left about so by washing everyday dont have to worry about it!!

It does help when the weather better cus summer clothes take up much less room! Anything else like coats, shoes, towels get stuffed where they can in the car/trailer rather than the packing hold-all.

I also have two small round collapsible kind of self things which I use to store clothes on once at site as I too dont like living out of a bag!!

I suppose each to there own, I bet some people would not want to be washing every day, and hand washing at that! But I have done it for so many years now it is just part of my morning camp site routine!
