Cook outside away from the tent! .... it is far too easy to knock something over! It is not always the risk of a fire, it is the risk of spillage/accidents in such a confined space!

I use a fishing brolly & a windbreak to protect my table mounted cooker.

A fishing brolley or tarp make a great, inexpensive cooking area away from the main tent if you don't want the expense of a separate utility tent - especially in these days where sites charge for every bit of equipment you put on your pitch!!  The cooking area should ideally be under the supervision of one adult (too many cooks cause accidents!) and kids and dogs should be kept away at all times. 

Your fire bucket can also be used to keep the milk cold during the day if you don't have a cool box.

We've got a Khyam windbreak with a "roof" for cooking under in wet weather. It works fine, was about £22 (now £25, I think) folds up really tiny and provides a bit of shade for the dogs in good weather.

No-one's yet tried to make us pay extra for it, either.
