I think your dh has his facts a little mixed up.  You can't freeze milk that the milkman leaves for you on your doorstep in glass bottles as the glass can't expand so will break And force the top off lol.  On the odd time i've frozen plastic bottles of milk i've had no problem but did on the one time i decided to freeze the milk in a glass bottle lol

I freeze milk at home too.

 I also freeze milk in an ice cube tray then if i run out of milk and friends drop by for a cuppa  a cube out the tray is a perfect measure.
