its not illegal to drive without tyre and have foam. But your not supposed to drive on foam wheel, its just supposed to get you to garage as is a space saver wheel. If you can afford it why not hire a bigger car, van! Be an extra something for your hols x

I don't know anybody who uses the foam,  it ruins the tyre once you've used it, and won't do anything at all for a blowout.  Also, the breakdown services won't do anthing for you if you have no spare.

If a garage offered to sell me a car without a full size spare (no space savers) I would walk away.
