have to agree with fiona our monty 6 has withstood rain, force gale winds which hammered it for a week day and night and our monty walked away with no damage hen other tents around us were in pieces so what ever the weather the monty 6 is a brill tent to be in. Have a great time.
Go and enjoy. In our experience even trips with extremely bad weather also had spells of excellent weather. You're away on holiday so enjoy whatever happens.
I totally agree Dave , me and the kids have just started our hols (i work in pre school) and yet again we have spent the 'summer' of May and June at schhol / work and now can look forward to and autumnal break !! Ah well we got 2 good days out of 7 last year at Anglesey but hope our week in Wales this year (going Saturday) is kinder. If not we are on holiday so will make the best of it.
------------- June - Royal Umpire
July - Upwood Holiday Park
July - Knight Stainforth
August - last min depending on weather
At the risk of making myself unpopular on here I am dismayed by the consensus of opinion regarding the seasons changing. Sure, the weather may have changed from the glorious summers we romanticise about when we were children but the seasons? As far as I am aware the seasons are not dictated by how much or little rain fall we get in a given month but by the tilt of the earth and it's rotation around the sun. Has something astronomical changed that our government is keeping hushed up? Has the longest day, the summer solstice, now moved to May 23rd? Is the lambing season February 21st? Cameron and Clegg may be pretty powerful men in the country today but I doubt they can re-arrange the solar system so that teachers get a sunny holiday. Re-arranging the 6 week holidays is not beyond their abilities but not the seasons.
We are in the same predicament. Supposed to go to Oxwich in the Gower on saturday for the first camp of the year. We're REAALLY looking forward to it, but it's absolutely bucketing down at the moment, and the forecast says rain, rain, rain !!!!! got a 4 year old and a 3 year old and don't fancy them being full of cold all over the 'summer'.
My heart says to go and we will probably enjoy, but my head says to stay home !?!?!?
thanks for that link tootells, hope it's as reliable as you say going down to penrith this weekend saturday to tuesday, weather looks not to bad, fingers crossed[and toes].
Thanks tootells, looks okay next week, so we will go packed with loads of board games and colouring stuff and I'm sure we will enjoy it more than staying at home!
