I done the same as the op but i had to pay for the orginal frame instead of being given it on further inspection the tyres were had it so that cost a few quid i did the floor out of hard wood and the main wood frame out of tongue and groove floor boarding what i thought was gonna be a cheap little job hit me for nearly £150 but on the brightside at least everythings new and it should last me a few years
Thought I might add my input on the subject of trailer refurbishments, if you don't mind my cheeky interruption Did my own last year after buying a bargain from ebay. Took a bit of work, and a little more spent on it than planned, but I had a vision and stuck to it...

Now that last one gives some indication on it's intended use, as I am part of an Airshow Events Team at a Gloucestershire airfield called Kemble, and take a lot of camping gear (including my latest Coleman tent).
Anything's possible, and trailers tend to be very D.I.Y. friendly to work with

My OH keeps saying he will fix up his dad's old trailer but ot be honest although he is very handy I doubted him. After seeing this thread I think I will let him have a go!!! If all else fails we dont live too far away from Moose!!!
