Thanks to everyone for your input, great site and so many helpful people, a Brenderup seems the way to go, I do like the whole package on ebay but it may get a bit to pricey but at least I know the trailers are worth having, many thanks to all.

Decent wheels/tyres and galvanised so don't rust

Other than all your tent and camping gear would get wet so you'd have to unpack the trailer after every trip....

Did look at trailers on ebay last year, but noticed the decent seconhand ones were going for silly money, in the end I went for a Lider Alicante c/w ABS Lid, RoofRack, Tongue Box and mounted spare wheel, got a good deal from a local firm and got it while the VAT was still at 15%, it takes all my kit no problem at 5ftx4ft, towed it to the Ardeche back in July, some 1800 mile round trip, cruising at 80mph you didn't notice the trailer was there lol, like others have mentioned having a trailer with 13" Wheels is the way to go.

what do the trailers with 13inch wheels reverse like?

I have a 6ftx4ft trailer with 10inch wheels and whilst it is a great little trailer it will not reverse at all no way, it has a 3 inch square single beam hitch and as soon as you put the car in reverse the trailer will jack knife i have tried and tried but i just cant seem to get it right

you have to make massive steering corections to get it to go backwards and a single track road just isnt wide enough to reverse my trailer

I have a Brenderup trailer with the high sides and am very pleased with how sturdy and stable it feels when being towed.
