As we normally observe, you sometimes need to take as much kit for a weekend as you do for a week.

My walking clothes are my camping clothes. We have dogs so all our activities tend to be around them ie walking!
For a weekend

2 prs walking trousers
2 walking t shirts
1 fleece
1 hoody cardy
1 waterproof
1 tracky bottoms (pjs)
1 fleece (pjs)
underwear

If going for a more than a weekend then a pair of jeans and a couple more t shirts get thrown in.

Makes packing a doddle but I look the same in each and every holiday snap for the past 4 or 5 years lol

I always take a maxi dress with shrug for beach or meal out then the rest of my camping wardrobe consists of cargo/combat trousers 3/4 trousers and leggings.

Leggings are ace because they are not dragging on the floor and getting wet, they are super comfy and if they do get wet they dont take long to dry out!

I am always the one in black leggings on site!!!

Me too! That's on the rare occasions I'm not the photographer.

I have to be sure I'm going to have the right stuff whatever the weather, so tend to take more than I need. For a week away I took:

2 pairs of shorts (in case it was hot)

2 pairs of trousers that zipped off to 3/4 length

one pair of combats

5 short-sleeved t-shirts

5 long-sleeved t-shirts

1 jumper (in case it was cold)

1 sweatshirt

1 hoodie

1 fleece

set of pack away waterproofs

4 bras, 8 pairs of knickers and 8 pairs of socks

thermal pyjamas

fleece pyjamas

It was never hot enough for the shorts, but the only other things I didn't wear were a couple of t-shirts, socks and one pair of knickers.

I was quite pleased to get my footwear down to a mere 4 pairs, too - sandals, walking boots, crocs and a pair of boots to wear out if it was too cold or wet for sandals. They all got worn.

Looking at some of these lists I've decided that OH has some what unreal expectations of how little I should pack
A lot of my regular clothes are getting a bit tatty ( well a lot actually) so I'm going to justify buying new stuff in the end of season sales, buy putting away the old stuff as my ready to go camping wardrobe. I'll just have to practice packing things as small as possible so OH doesn't notice how much I'm taking

In our case it's the other way round. OH packs a t shirt for each day and wears it for 24 hours. Same with undies. He used to take loads of socks too, (for the Med?) 'til I talked him into sandals. He also would take a couple of proper shirts 'just in case', which he never wore.
I tend to wear vests and either shirt or cardigan/fleece so can wear clothes a couple of times, not clean on every day.

Just been slogging round Asda and Sainsbury's clothing sales. Bought a load of vest tops at Asda reduced from £3 to £1.50, also couple of t shirts for same amount. Sainsburys are having a 25% of all clothing promotion until Monday only managed to get a couple of t shirts there, plus some wellie for DD 1.
Afore mentioned daughter has now waldzted off with half the vests to stock up for when she goes to uni.
Haven't seen any cargo pants for sale anywhere.
There is a Cotton Traders outlet shop opening in a nearby town any time now so I will check them out and see what offers they have when they open. I stopped ordering things from them online as I found their sizing a bit erratic and the postage to return things was expensive.
Now Ive gone mad in the sales ( for me anyway ) I need to sit down and work out what else I need.

M&S have some fab combats/cargo pants, in their basics section, some at £12 and some at £15. Even in different leg lengths for short arses like me!

this year for our 11 day trip we all had a tesco bag for life bag for our clothes - generally consisted of 5 t-shirt and short outfits, 5 long sleeves and jeans/combat outfits, 5 pairs of knickers/boxers and one best outfit, plus 2 fleeces and i pair of waterproofs each, if it didn't fit neatly in the bag it didn't go, although as i packed for all 3 kids some of my extra stuff happened to accidently slip in their bags!!

I've only got the one child to pack for so wouldn't get to accidentally slip much in there. I'd like to see older daughter get her stuff into one bag for life!
Which size do you use BTW? Morrisons and Asda do quite big ones.
