we think the Hypercamp Eldorado makes the perfect weekender, amazingly good quality, weather resistant and super easy pitch. Though it is Canvas and £150 which might not be what you are after

Pegs?
My mainstay pegs are skinny rock pegs for mudwalls etc
skinny rock peg
and fat rock pegs for most other things
these
or better still these

got some Ripple V pegs, Deltas and a few ex army sand pegs just in case - but really, good rock pegs last ages and do all sorts of ground well - use a claw hammer or lump hammer and never be troubled by a rocky site again

We've got a Vango Beta 350 and for two of us we find that works brilliantly. Our previous tent was a dome and OH was concerned about the stability of a tunnel in comparison but properly pitched it's superb. The living area is small, but we can get all our stuff in it with room for the two of us in there comfortably as well if it's chilly or wet - had to spend an entire evening in it in Cornwall back in May and honestly had no problems.

It's a doddle to pitch once you've done it a few times too - we easily get ours up and guyed between us in 15 minutes, and I'd have no qualms about doing it by myself if I needed to. (5'1")

If you go camping to "get away from it all" - why take it all with you?
