I have done this twice. First time I had both kids and hubby could not get time off work. My friend was also there with her two kids which was nice. The second time was when hubby had to do a midnight run home with our youngest who started vomiting. Not nice memories but once everything was all cleaned up me and eldest son had a great time!!

It would require quite alot of confidence on my part and I would probably be a bit scared at night ( i know i am a wimp) but in theory it would be possible with our quechua base and thinking of the 4.1 to add on to it I could imagine it. My hubby is often busy during the holidays... and we have 3 boys so camping is a must.....maybe wait a couple of years first....the little one is still to small...and would be devastated if I went with the older 2 and left him with granny!!!
I camp all the time with just my daughter, or with friends and kids. Just because your partner is not that keen nor available all the time shouldn't stop you. Going to a campsite is much more preferable to sitting at home on a gorgeous weekend wishing you were somewhere else!

I have camped with my eldest two boys a couple of times although not in the past year or so.
Now I have a campervan so I'm planning a girlie trip with my youngest
Don't have a problem camping alone at all although my biggest anxiety is getting lost/not being able to find the campsite - its irrational, I have a map and a TomTom but I have a wierd freakery thing going on when I go to places I've never visited before ;) so if I do go on a girlie weekend it'll be to somewhere I'm familar with ;)
