I was on my hands and knees in the garden earlier this evening laying a bit of turf, having messed about with the borders in order to extend the lawn so there's room to pitch my tent and the smell of grass made me think of campsites!
seeing everyones photos that get posted and being outside on a night or early morning and not feeling cold, thats when I know its time to get the tent out

Zips do it for me too - has anyone seen the thing that BBC2 shows between programmes - the number 2 in the side of a tent which unzips (hard to explain!)
I so love that clip - I really really want to go to an indoor camp somewhere when it's really cold - these things must exist! Even if it's a barn rather than a big hall, somewhere to be a bit warmer rather than directly outside. Oh and have a big party too.

oh no wasn't actually that clip, I thought you meant the one where they are indoors but camping, when they open up and get the milk.... but that other one is good too!

I forgot.... our camping tunes, usually listen to the Levellers on the way to the campsites so when I hear them especially 'Beautiful Day' or 'Maid of The River'.
But yeah, pretty much always up for it especially this year.
Oh The Levellers!!! Absolutely with you on that one, Case01!
I reckon the Lev's One Way Of Life is a very appropriate song for camping - "there's only one way of life and that's your own".
To get back to the OP, that BBC2 'unzipping a numeral two' station ident always makes me yearn to go camping. But then almost everything gets me in the mood for camping.
I've only just got back from eight nights under canvas and I'm away again next weekend to camp in north Wales and climb Snowdon
