The Bar Be Quick ones must be good, a few years ago the factory in Burnley burnt down and it took ten days to put it out!
P.S. This is true and no-one was hurt.
We have just bought a 'portable barrell BBQ' ready for our upcoming camping trip. Has very good reviews and sure it will be a good buy.
Got it for only £19.99 then a few quid postage. Can recommend the company, quick postage etc. Comes with two grills, so can be used as a double burner too. Hope this helps!...the link is here to the company I bought from.....
Hello - newbie here! Apologies in advance if I'm making any errors!
We always use the tesco disposable BBQ - it's perfect for our needs of burgers, sausages, chicken, steaks etc.
We have no complaints. It's quite small and fits neatly under the car seats for ideal space saving.
Personally I wouldn't cook a dogs dinner on one - they're full of petrochemicals to actually get the stuff to burn - some very interesting chemicals coming off that stuff! You may as well stick your sausages up the car exhaust to cook.
Most supermarket/DIY store charcoal is imported - often from dubious sources - and compared to UK made stuff it's garbage. Hard and slow to light, and because it's not well made - it produces a lot of smoke. We use and sell proper charcoal made by a guy in the Lake District. It will be ready to cook on in about ten minutes flat, will light with a few bits of scrunched up newspaper and a bit of a draught (no need for lighter fluid at all), is hotter than hell and virtually smokeless. We'd be cooking well before anyone with a disposable thing, and wouldn't have streaming eyes from all the smoke and chemical fumes either.
Charcoal briquettes are another thing to avoid - they have a list of "other ingredients" as long as your arm - none of which I'd want anywhere near me dinner! The "extras" are there to stick them together in briquette shapes - they're actually made from the rubbish swept up after the lumpwood charcoal is packaged.
Find yourself some UK produced charcoal - it really is a whole different ball game - AND you'll be helping to look after our native woodlands by buying it.
Good man! Don't make the mistake that we did when we first discovered good charcoal years ago - we piled it up just like we'd been used to doing with the DIY store stuff - lit it, and then couldn't get near it for about half an hour! Burns way hotter than the imported stuff so you'll probably find you need a lot less to do the job!
