I love camping but don't see the point of being cold and feeling miserable as i am when really cold , so we nearly always have EHU for heating and lighting also for fridges but i draw the line , I think , at a micro wave

All to their own though whatever makes your camping trip enjoyable i say !!

Not everyone is the same

Even when we had a caravan we never had a microwave.  We hardly use the 1 we have at home as we love cooking on our Cobb as everything tastes so much better especially jacket potatoes

Dont ask me, I don't understand why people need ehu lol ..... In all seriousness if you want to take one then take it :)
My kids moan they can't take their ds's etc but it's funny how they don't miss them once the tent is up :)

Thankfully, when my kids were little they didnt have the "gadgets" that are around now(ps1 was relatively new!) so we didnt have the problems of ds's,mobile phones etc...I suppose if I had young kids now I would be bullied into getting EHU for the sake of peace, but as there is only hubby,me and the mutt we are happy to have a quiet, relaxing time....and that includes not panicking about getting everything into the toxic bus(lime green berlingo)

I think younger people, especially those with kids equate EHU with a means of keeping up with Corrie and charging mobile phones, using play stations or whatever kids have these days and then say they can do without it because they don't need it when away.

Fine, but I say...wait till you are my age...bugger the play stations and TV's. I want EHU for warmth and comfort and to make my camping that much more pleasurable for a few more years to come.

One thing i read on the c&cc web site said something about microwaves and the fluctuation of power usage may trip the ehu .

Only high watt microwaves would cause problems on tripping electric also this usually happens if the unit(tent/caravan)has too many things on at anyone time
