Camping tradition is getting stressed out putting up tent then snaping at each other, after that normal service returns and it's all Happy Camping, (until packing up it).
Welcome to the Addictive world of camping, hope you have many happy trips.
LOL how very true... Me and OH only ever argue getting the tent up, getting it back down again, and strangely in B&Q?? (go figure)
Its that common our 5 yr old has offered to put it up by herself so mummy and daddy wont shout ( she was giggling while she said it)
have a great time, we have our outwell pitching video on my OH's phone for quick reference and then if we start getting, er fiesty , when pitching it's .. " right lets looks at the video" and then we carry on without too many quarrels....... i did only realise though when PACKING UP last time that there were straps you could loosen on the pins that go in the poles lol , next time will be easier now we know this lol

Enjoy your tent and camp trip
That's what I love about this tent - all the huge windows. It makes it so light inside and brings the outside right to the door
After reading everyone's posts I'm looking forward to it even more now, whatever the weather xx

We never argue when we pitch as we are usually not on speaking terms after getting lost looking for the campsite!!
Ha ha ha - never thought about that - happy holidays!!

when and where are you going? did you get the carpet and extension too? sorry just being nosey
Just going to Ashbourne in Derbyshire - not too far from home initially. We're going this Thursday 'til Sunday
Got the carpet but didn't get extension (yet). Have you got front or side extension? My OH is a bit worried about the extensions in the wind as they have no doors
We have the side extension, we went to rivendale in ashbourne 2 weekends ago, get lots of rock pegs its a must, the plastic ones bend. pics of our setup is on the review section of the oakland xl and side extension, we did a review of the campsite too.
It got windy but the side extension was fine, if it gets too much just quickly collapse it.
Thanks for the advice. It's Rivendale that we are going to. I've got some rock pegs but not many. I've got quite a few delta's but the vinyl ones - will they be any good there?
Will have a look at your reviews - I think we probably will get an extension, my OH just doesn't know it yet!
DON'T use them, They will get damaged, you need a minimum of 24 rock pegs even campers using the metal skewer types bent them. unfortunately the extension is a necessity as if it rains it will come into the tent due to the doorway angle.
Something my OH is working out a solution to, to pass on to other Outwell owners.
Do you think you will get the front extension any time soon?
no don't think we will bother we don't want to cover our lovely panoramic windows with an extension, it's the main reason we got the tent, when the side one does such a good job for cooking etc
