thats true
as for keeping warm its not just about the sleeping bag its also to do with the layers your lay on if your just on a airbed the cold can still come through and get your back
when iam with OH i take a thin quilt to put over the airbed then lay on that keeps a bit warmer for her, the other thing is quilts themselves most don't take them due to they take up space, so id look for a all round sleeping bag of 3 seasons, as was said on a different post you can cool down in a sleeping bag by unzipping it a bit but warming up can be a issue

Best 'peg puller' i've ever used is actually from my daughters trampoline! When you get a new one they give you a little gagets to put the elastic bits in to place. Fab piece of kit if you can get hold of one!

Thanks for the replies, it was our very first trip camping, we started last year with an urban escape fuji tent, it was the first of many trips this year :)

I had 1 of them tools to pull the springs on our trampoline, i think the box is in the shed, will have a look!

We had then camping mat under the airbed but I think we are going to vacume bag a spare quilt and use that with the sleeping bag ontop of the airbed, hopefully will be warmer in july/august anyway!

If you can find it, its worth keeping and using to pull pegs! We used ours last year when the ground was really hard and didn't have any problems getting the pegs out. It was really strong and robust.

Well done on surviving the trip - not familiar with your tent but anything with 700 in its name sounds ENORMOUS!!

Sounds like your pegs were well and truly pegged in :-) so the flapping may just have been the "normal" sound of your tent in the wind.  You don't necessarily want all your guys very tight as a strong gust of wind could then cause the fabric to tear - they just need to be tight enough to keep the tent stable and secure.  Eventually you get used to whats just normal wind movement (that sounds so wrong!!) and you can sleep more peacefully.

Good luck with the repairs x
