Kate - that's what I was afraid of, as when I bought it mine was expensive, and matched a few other bits in my kitchen. However, as the price has come right down, I just picked up a basic one from somewhere like Tesco - OK I wouldn't behappy if te pot gor broken but it wouldn't be the end of the world.

I love using my slowcooker at home but worry enough leaving it on unattended. I don't think I could risk it in a tent. I'd be paranoid all day I'd be coming home to a few poles and some smouldering ashes!
Is it just me who's a worryhead?!
TCx
Do you worry about it spontaneously bursting into flames at home ?
So long as your tent doesnt leak ,why would it suddenly do so ?
The worst worry we have is coming home to uncooked food if some muppet has tripped out a shared hookup point and reset it
Yes, I do lol! That's what I said in my previous post. It must just be me being paranoid then

I worry too. I remove anything vaguely combustible from the area and console myself with the fact that if it burst into flames then only my house would burn down. I'd never dare risk it on a campsite because of wind blowing things around or the possibility of me burning someone else's tent down aswell as my own if the wosr happened.
Worried about breaking the 'crockery' inner pot especially in transit? The inner is protected with the outer, wrap the lid in a towel then invert to sit on top of the pot. Wrap the whole item in another towel, may end up a bit bulky but the towels would be going with you anyway. On the other hand, with the best will in the world, any crockery can be dropped/broken during washing up and drying, which of us has'nt done that at some time

Growing old disgracefully!!
I have been taking a Halogen Oven for the last 18 months. I love it. Can cook anything in it. Managed a full roast over the Eater holidays much to the amusement of the campers next to us. Just keep it in the original box with packaging and put it in an available footwell so it doesn't move too much in transit. Take an enamel casserole pot for curries etc and the best thing apart from the super fast time they cook is that they are more or less self cleaning.
