When families are involved some noise is inevitable. My two are pretty good but when they get over tired which they can do on holiday they can lose it on occasion and start squealing like stuck pigs. We do try and sort it though but it can take a while.
Loud music and loud TV is to my mind unacceptable in a tent for people that need any kind of high volume level caravans and statics that have better sound insulation are probably a more sensible option. Sadly I also think that is the case for people with special needs children. Everyone needs a holiday but you can't spoil another persons to make yours cheaper or easier.

Is it not the combination of all the things going wroing? Could you have coped and tolerated it if it was just the grass or just the child's scream? I know that when I get down it's cos there has been so many things gone wrong but would have been ok if it were just the one thing.
That is a good point. The trip didn't start off well and I am usually quite tolerant of most things. Had it been just one problem I may well have put up with it to a degree although each incident on it's own was enough to make what should have been a good trip into something of a disappointment. That really was the point of my posting in that having previously commented in other similar threads that I had not experienced too much noise on campsites I suddenly got the lot all in one go.
Incidentally I want to make it clear that Norden Farm is a pretty good site. Nice well kept grassy pitches (The C&CC could take notes!). One of the best facilities blocks I have seen. Plenty to do for young children with a nice play area and lots of animals to get close to, and in a prime location for Corfe Castle and Swanage. The site of course cannot be held responsible for inconsiderate campers and I would certainly return but get a pitch in one of the other fields a little further away from the menagerie
I rather feel it is you that needs to chill repmac...this is an internet chat forum and not to be taken too seriously...life's too short as they say (I nearly said not to be taken as gospel)
I often find on internet forums that those who feel the need to make personal comments about the poster usually have nothing interesting to say about the topic.
So sorry you had a noisey camping trip,we had one last week with noisey neighbours coming home having one to many at 1in the morning then making a din I think some people are so inconciderate.
We stayed at Norden Farm earlier this year and experienced a similar problem with the noise, however, at about 11pm, someone came round on a quad bike (or similar) and the noise died down. My girls didn't scream, but did chatter away to themselves at times, the screaming doesn't bother me, the foul language and the thumping music did, so I asked them to stop.
Saying that, the absolute worse place we have stopped was Billing Aquadrome....I thought we had pitched up next to a rave!
