After trying loads of airbeds over the years I have found that the Aerobeds are the most likely to stay up, all airbeds deflate slowly over time but this brand seemed to last longer between top ups. My OH and I have two singles which we put together as one big bed and our movements during the night do not affect each other. Ours is not raised but raised ones are available and the little pumps that come with them make short work of inflating them. You will have to top them up every couple of days but thats par for the course with any airbed I'm afraid.

Just discovered Outdoor Leisure Direct are selling the same airbed I have just ordered from them on ebay at about £4 cheaper so I have emailed them and asked if they are willing to refund the difference.

Update...they have removed the ebay listing. Guess I won't be getting it cheaper

I certainly can't fault Outdoor Leisure Direct for ease of purchase and quickness of delivery.

I ordered the airbed and paid for it by paypal yesterday at 14.36 pm (took seconds). It was delivered at 11.00 am this morning. You can't beat that!

I have pumped it up and can't make up my mind if it is losing air or not...seems to be very slightly softer than it was...hopefully it's just the new material stretching. The valve isn't quite what I had in mind. I've not come across that type of valve before...just seems to clip in but as long as it works, no problem.

keeping my fingers crossed it turns out to be a good 'un

Yikes I hope you're not disappointed, I thought thats what you meant by a 3 way valve! It doesn't let air out when you take the pump out and when you want to deflate it just release the whole thing and its down, no sitting on it as you roll it up!!!! Let me know how you get on with it.....

ROFL...don't worry it's almost what I meant. A couple of airbeds ago I had quite a cheapo one which was only about 4" high I think. However, it lasted years until it finally started deflating. The valve was very similar to the one on the Intex except that the main valve screwed in rather than clipping in, then there was a secondary screw cap on top of that similar to the push in one on the Intex. However the principal was the same with a rubber flap inside creating a non-return valve so the air didn't come out when you removed the pump, and you unscrewed the whole valve to deflate it.

Well, it has been inflated all day in my bedroom. It does seem to have lost a little air but I am sincerely hoping that is just the new vinyl stretching, as it was packed pretty tightly from new and was quite wrinkled. I have now had to deflate it to make room in the bedroom. Not sure it will fit back in the little bag they give you - lol. I obviously can't judge it properly until I use it for real but it seems quite comfortable and providing it stays inflated and doesn't take up too much extra room in my bedroom pod it should be just the ticket, and pretty reasonable at that price (even though I could have got it cheaper on ebay - lol).

That is certainly an advantage. My present airbed is 10" high and it is great to be able to sit on the edge in the morning to put my socks on...or was before it started getting too soft. I am fairly optimistic (unusual for me) that the Intex will be fine. Thanks for the advice.

Update on Outdoor Leisure Direct...not only did it take seconds to order and pay for an airbed using Paypal, and then it was delivered early the next day, but they have also agreed to refund £4 as a goodwill gesture since they were selling the same item on Ebay at £4 cheaper than on their website. They have also asked me to get back to them if I later find it to be leaking.

Good company
