thanks oh sorry shouldnt i have posted this ! I just thought someone might actually do this and not realise !!
Don't apologise for posting this. Someone may see your post who missed the earlier one and you could save a life. In my ignorance last year I took the barbecue into the tent after the flames had died down just to get a bit of warmth in there one morning without realising the carbon monoxide risk, and someone on this forum warned me about it when I mentioned it. I'm very grateful for that. So, thanks for caring!
This thread has got me wondering about whether it is safe to run my 3 way fridge on gas during the night. I think I should be OK in my frame tent as no SIG and the canvas allows the tent to breathe, but I also use it (used to use it ??) in my polyester Galeria with SIG.
Has anyone any experience or reports of issues caused through use of Gas fridge in tent ?
Thanks

the heavier carbon monoxide builds up in the tent
Heavier carbon monoxide? I think you'll find it is slightly lighter than air. It is butane / propane that is heavier than air.........
It does not make it any less toxic though........

OP we also have a Nevada M and just before we went away I bought the extension (they are a bad influence on this site, I never used to lust after all things tent!) The extension was brilliant on the one day it rained but we also cook just inside the entrance (not BBQ, gas stove) the gas bottle remains outside and we turn it off everytime we use it. BBQ's remain outside. Many people have been cooking safely in tents for years, it's about common sense. Enjoy your hols

Woman dies as family overcome by fumes in tent
Aberafon campsite sign The campsite is 11 miles south of Caernarfon
A woman has died after a family of four were overcome by fumes in their tent on a campsite in Gwynedd.
On the Daily Mail website it said "One theory police are investigating is that she was overcome by fumes from a barbecue in the entrance to the tent."
How many more times this year will this happen? Very sad.

This has just been on the Welsh news, where they said witnesses reported they took a BBQ into their tent for warmth. So sad, my thought go out to that poor, poor family :-( x
