V - family friendly!!!!!!   I have been going for the last five years and wouldn't take my two girls there!!! (This year being the worst of all of them!!)

I've only missed one and have to agree with you Mollyjess  and I could go on for ages about it!

However, I'm a regular festival goer and take our tent to all the festivals, the mud etc has always been brushed off (only once been really bad). The extra space is much appreciated when you come back and want to carry on chatting etc. (Most festivals have now banned gazebos) The only time I'd take a smaller one if it was just me.

I don't need it...I'm not buying it....but I really WANT it!

I would say the smaller tent - BUT my friends went to Sonisphere last month and took their Ourwell Vermont (XL ? )

The tent was just fine - in fact it became very popular and they made lots of friends . It worked both ways - they were happy with all the beer and others were happy to stay dry.

They had their children with them (who like heavy rock too ), and I think they were in the family field- but based on their experience ,they would do it again. It also made finding the tent easy

Yeah, definately agree, if you're in a tent, camp in the family area if you possibly can. But I can understand why some wouldnt want to camp there though, if they're after the full on festival camping experience!!

family camping area = much more civilised experience - for people - and their tents!!
