what a wonderful story and what kind friends you have. It is lovely to read something so nice as recently there have been lots of tales of rude/mean people on here. Have fun in your new tent......
------------- Jewelsm - a fair weather camper
August 2013, 14, 15, 16 & 17-Trevornick for two and a half weeks of sea and surf (and ever optimistic -lots of sun). Some other weekends if I can persuade DH
I'm really pleased for you....good friends are a God send. Reading this post means I can tell you about my very special friend too....We have only started camping this year and were gifted a rage tent.....people mock but we love it....however, she is almost on her last legs! The kids and I have spent many wonderful weekends in her with one of my long time friends (OH loves her to go so as he doesn't feel guilty about not wanting too).Recently we were discussing 'in an ideal world' and I even posted on one of the forums about it.. Samantha88 recommended a Vango breakout and I was talking to my friend about it and how I'd try and save for one for next year....Long story short, my friend recently sold her house and told me to expect a gift in the post..... yesterday I became the proud owner of a Vango Breakout 600 dlx as an early Christmas present for us all and to say thanks for making her a part of our family......tears?...bucketloads on both sides lol.
And what makes this gift even more special.....now I HAVE to book at our local site for a weekend so that we can try her out

Obviously friends like this are not unique, (which is good ) In a world fast become very self centered it does warm the cockles doesn't it? When you have pitched your vango why not get some pics of it to post on here. I haven't heard of the "Breakout" have to look it up.........enjoy both the tent and the friendship, they keep you safe and warm.
Right I better get sorted my train to Blackpool leaves at 15.20 on the dot ...whoooo hooo
Reading your stories has cheered me up no end. So many times I hear horrible stories that make me lose faith in human nature. Wonderful to hear these. You must be wonderful friends also for them to want to do this for you.
Am so glad your story had a happy ending I was almost dreading reading to the end of the op as there are so many horror stories on here and I was hoping they didn't turn out to be bad people but with your warm heart you have had it returned to you, its karma, and very nice to hear.
Also the vango story, very heartwarming to know that there are still selfless people out there.
Final post on this, Thankyou all for leaving your thoughts, I appreciate it.
I am still going next week but unfortunately it will be solo as my daughter can't get the time off, (hotel trade) So I will take the opportunity to do an in depth review of my new tipi with photo's.
Currently I am at my friends in Blackpool, So extra hugs last night when I arrived
A sign of the times, I thought you were going to see your old tent up for sale but no a brilliant ending, it seems as though you have all struck gold with each other. Nice one.
At the of the day you did a nice thing for them, and I thought the story would be that they didn't appreciate the tent or something, but you were very kind to them, so they have just repaid it.
I would be lucky to get a single skinned gelert in the post :D
