Just packed away the big tent till next year, but have a trip planned for next weekend in the smaller one, and trying to talk hubby into going again end of Sept (but he says to cold), can always do late booking i guess if weather ok.

Dont like to think that i will have to wait till May to camp again.

We've had our last camp of the year , but we did manage to test the new weekend tent at the weekend after all so I cant complain too much.  Would have liked to have got another weekend in but we're off to paris next month one weekend and away for another weekend for extended birthday celebrations!!

I wouldn't expect any long range forecast to be accurate. They were forecasting heavy rain for last Saturday right up until the day before, when the forecast suddenly changed to sunny intervals, which is what we got on the day.

There could be some lovely weekends still to come and at this time of year it shouldn't be too difficult to get a pitch somewhere at short notice if you decide to go.

Personally, I couldn't bear the thought of packing everything away for the winter just yet. I had such withdrawal symptoms from not camping for the last few weeks that I had to pick up the phone on Monday and book a couple of weekend trips! (Whether anyone comes with me or not is another matter.)

Do we really need "Summer" to get the canvases out??

Just back from a lovely (partly wet, partly hot) bank hol weekend in devon (Hidden Valley camp site) ... and what a great few days it has been.

We'll be doing the Peak District next weekend and then another weekend in the Lakes ... we might then consider putting the Evolva away for the winter .... maybe!!

We were talking about getting away for a few days at the end of this week and early next, but as I've resorted to putting the heating on tonight, we may pass on that if it doesn't warm up a bit.

I'm in a relatively new relationship and am not sure he's ready for the sight of me in a balaclava at night.....

If it meant another trip or two before christmas id risk the bally, hell if he cant handle that whats he going to do when you start putting your cold feet on him.

We dont live in the south of france why cant we just accept that and get on with it. all these poor tents shut up for months on end never seeing daylight till its warm enough to melt the windows. Not much beats the first time you wake up look out of the tent and see snow or at least a hard frost everywhere looks beautiful. after all thats what warm clothes are for.

All year camper and all round lunatic
