String of (very pretty) chinese lantern solar fairy lights.
Exceedingly bright handheld/hanging torch lantern (aka as an inspection lamp!): rechargeable.
Battery operated LED anglepoise-style table lamp (looks a bit like ET's head.)
Wind-up torch.
Small but bright hanging LED light (which I bought vastly reduced from Millets and gave to OH in his stocking).
That brings our tent lighting selection to the total of 14 options for all eventualities and interior design needs
we got a outwell iowa 6 signiture and footprint a skillet for that lovely camping food (ok me and OH treat ourselve just before crimbo) my mother bought us an hamper full of essencials kids bought me an headlight for cooking in the dark or ye and to top all that got a new house woohoo
Nothing campingish for me but I did by the Mrs a double sleeping bag and a double airbed. She is not a keen camper so I was prepared for it to be an unwelcome gift. I made sure she thought we were only buying for the kids this year and not each other so she could not mewl to much about what she had bought me.
------------- Armchair camper with more tents than I will probably ever get the use out of.
Santa was very kind to me by way of; my double skillet, a funky wind up radio/torch, several citronella candles and a wasp pot!
I am a very lucky girl!
Can't wait to start camping in the spring now (can't persuade my boys to go any earlier)!
------------- Jewelsm - a fair weather camper
August 2013, 14, 15, 16 & 17-Trevornick for two and a half weeks of sea and surf (and ever optimistic -lots of sun). Some other weekends if I can persuade DH
I now have a proper camping kitchen set-up to go with my Vango; no more crawling around when cooking - very nice! Treated myself to a little inflatable pillow too, to save lugging a full size one around.
My 12 year old gave me a nice candle stick with a "battery candle" for the tent, the green colour matching our Montana 6. She certainly has understood what glamping is about!
No real surprises as we needed the items anyway as replacements - but our camping Christmas prezzies to each other were: 2 Vango chairs, a new Campingaz lantern, an ultra lightweight head torch for our son, 2 fleecy waterbottle covers, a hanging/magnetic led light and a battery clip on book reading light.
We did get a useful bottle openner for the overnight set-up out of a Christmas cracker which was a nice surprise.
------------- Love our set-up and need no more tents or gear, so trying to stop looking!
I got a Quecha tarp to cook under when I'm in the Carolina and an LCD weather station so I can see how cold it is outside and work out how many layers I need to put on before I leg it across to the toilet block in the morning!
