Well we had tents for years,then trailer tent,then caravan last year and i hated it. Putting the beds up every night,cramped inside ,felt too on top of each other. We did have an awning. Sold the van at easter and treated ourselves to a brand new tent and were away last week and loved it!!!. Even my hubby who was reluctant to sell the van admitted it was nic being able to get straight into bed. I did find an easier set up which has helped a lot,o and condensed my kit down too

Tent - caravan - tent - I'll swap you, my tent for your caravan!

I love camping, I love the space in the tent. I don't mind going to the loo in the rain.

BUT every holiday always has some drama....either we are rushing to get where we are going as it takes 2 hours to set up when we get there; or rushing to beat the rain. Halfway through the holiday we have to start watching the weather to see if we will have a calm dry day to decamp. We have to start packing up the night before we leave otherwise we would have to set our alarms to be packed up and off site at the allotted time. We are tired before we leave the site then often have a 6-7 hour journey home.

I'd love a caravan where I could just turn up, corner legs down and that's it. I wouldn't have a fixed bed but I would have 2 seating areas where I could leave the bed up if we were having a day out and pack it away if it were a rainy day and give us more space.
