(Big generalization coming up so please no one take offence)...
Caravaners don't seem to have as much FUN as tenters! They sit all day & all night on their very comfy & plush benches, usually watching the telly, they rarely bbq, they don't make camp fires, they don't need to go to the pot wash, so miss out on all the banter, they don't need to set foot out the door...& if they have an awning, they like to sit in it as it's just like being in a tent...
Right guys decision made,Russandjax your post did it for me, keeping the tent love a gab at the pot wash and a bbq, so tenting for the next few years at least for us.

No offence taken but don't think you could be further from the truth! Could actually say the same about some tenters with all their mod cons and TVs! I do both and love them both. I'll never understand the mental ideas some people have about caravanners. Don't understand the antagonism. Don't understand why some people seem to think all they do is sit in and watch their TVs. Guessing they've obviously never known any!
I have a caravan and several tents and wouldn't want to get rid of any of them (much the the annoyance of the OH who would like me to "streamline" my gear!)
Depending on where I am going, for how long, time of year, who with etc... all impact on which unit I use.
