The combination of wind & rain makes it a no no for us.  We had several hours of rain each day in Bakewell & Clitheroe (resulting in 3 wet pack ups) & found it hard work tbh, even going to the wash up or shower block became unpleasent.

Net weather is showing windy & wet conditions next week for our hoped for trip to the Galloway coast so we will delay it & see if the week after improves.

Maybe when you can be flexible, you become more fussy so do miss out going as often as you would like.  However when the weather is bad & folk have already paid up & taken time off work etc, I do feel for them.  This year seems to have been worse than last, hardly any Saturday has been dry around here this year!

Even if we have had a nice day, it's been pouring down the next!  Rubbish British summer..........again

Bit of both! 

Camped at May in -3 overnight temps, Keswick in constant rain and had strong winds in on our last outting!  Saying that, we did cancel at Easter due to bad forecast and if we fancy a weekender decision is made on forecast too.

Apart from our annual Hols abroad, we go camping every Whitsun, August B/H and 3 pre-booked weekends in between, we look at the weather forcast just as a matter of interest but take no notice at all, and always go.

Had we have acted on the forecast for last week end for the New Forest (rain 3 solid days out of 4) we would have stayed at home, but in reality we had rain on 3 nights  and a couple of hours during Sat morning, the rest of the time was great, pitched and struck camp in the dry.

I have lost count of the number of times when bad weather has been forecast and it's turned out fine, had we gone by the forecast we would have stayed at home and then missed the good weather, perhaps we have just been very lucky, but the weather does appear more stable down here in the South.

Sometimes you can't tell what the weather is going to be like.  Everyone would like decent weather, to really enjoy the experience of camping.   I don't mind a bit of rain or wind.  I have camped when it has been horrendous, with driving rain and high winds.  As long as I have some nice days to make up for it.

If it driven rain and winds for 24/7 and being holed up is not fun for anyone.   I have up graded my tent which has a larger living area with plenty of space, in turn has made it more comfortable.  Having EHU in this situation does make it easier.

A family I know have come back from Cornwall they had terrible weather,  in which not only battered and flatterened their tent, but many others on the site. Not a lot of fun.

I'll go whatever the weather, but I can completely understand that if you have children and the forecast is rain for days on end you might need to cancel! 

We are generally last minute campers so don't go if it is forecast to rain, but if we have booked a longer break, then we still go no matter what the forecast.
