The hardest part is planning the layout and make-up, to ensure you don't get stuck having a wadge of canvas to slide under the foot and cram into the archway.

That will be my problem too - just at the moment I am making a plan about in which order to sew the parts to avoid this!

Thanks for your enthusiasm - now I really feel the courage to start the project! I have spread the templates for the 1:10 model out on my table, so I can start cutting the fabric tomorrow as soon as I am back from work!

Measure twice, cut once.

I ordered too little fabric for the canopy so had to fudge things. Take note from my mistakes and take the time - which you have done - to plan the making up.

Holding my breath for you and crossing everything.

Ooooooohhhhhh it's so exciting. The birth of a new homemade baby.

Yes, it's so exciting - and quite a long pregnancy to make sure this baby will be nice and healthy when finally born...

The tent will be off-white because that's the colour the tarps I will cut the pieces from have.

The fabric is a bit transparent I'm afraid - at least when it's dark outside and the light is on. So I thought of sewing a kind of roof liner plus curtains for the triangles (instead of making curtains for only the windows)from a thin polycotton fabric, which will make the tent less transparent, and also warmer - like a kind of "inner" for the whole tent.

Not yet the real tent - but just now taking a deep breath and starting to cut out the pieces for my 1:10 model!

Yes, I want to try if the construction is stable, where to put guy ropes and pegs, and in which order to sew the parts together - before I start on the big project!
