Local farmer has no problem as he thinks I am just plain nuts.

Now now, you go too far!! Camping alone on a hillside on christmas eve, fine.  Making the local farming community view you as a loon, fine....but no dinner on Christmas day.....Haven't you bought a COBB yet????

and so, we wean you off the tent buying obsession and onto the 'kit' buying threads Mwaahaahaahaa!!!

It is not an obsession it's a way of life . I'm in the process of house hunting and unless the house has a good storage area for my camping gear it is discarded instantly much to my hubby's amusement

I think we should call the malaise TAD. Tent Acquisition Disorder.

it never ends im sad to say...

with 6 decent tents (outwell bear & trout, vango omega + event + alpha, kampa minnis ) and 2 cheapys ... im now waiting to see what the outwell inflateable range brings next year and might just have to sell the Bear Lake 6 with front extension, side extension, living and bedroom carpets and footprint setup to pay towards a new inflateable so i can put a large polycotton tent up on my own!

it really doesnt ever stop.

i stopped asking myself that Q about 4 tents ago!!!

I've done it again
Bear lake 6 2012 with footprint, only ever been put up in the garden and never slept in ... £400 and delivered
Now do you think I need a special carpet or will the Minnie 6 do?
Or do I sell the Minnie 6 which I haven't used yet but keep the Monty extension which fits both?
I have TAD and have also googled COBB and I want one of those now..

Ohh just googled one of those ... they look really good, nice one.
Gotta put this bear lake up at the weekend and give it a good soaking then wait for it to dry out completely, so might be sleeping in the garden again.

mikim - you ll love the bear lake - iv got same and love being in it, the smell of the fabric is something that makes you sleep like a baby - best nights sleeps iv ever ever had anywhere has been in my bear lake6 and my trout lake 4!
make the trout lake 4 your next tent - for weekends - its a baby bear lake - and you could put it up yourself and camp in blissful luxury and there some bargains to be had on it right now ( i got mine from 375 from yeomans )

have a looky at karsten tents and de-waard tents!

http://www.dewaardtenten.nl/index.php/tenten

open the linky and just let the pictures roll! - some lovely lovely tents and views - makes me wanna go out there right now!!!

i want a karsten inflateable too! in red and cream! ( ill only ever be able to afford a 2nd hand one but have a looky at www.marktplatz.nl and you ll see them for sale on there - then you take one of your weekend tents, pop in the car, drive to the ferry, goto holland and pickup the karsten and goto campsite and choose a tent to put up and sleep in for 1 or 2 nights - enjoy some dutch foods drinks and beautifully clean camp site and come home with new dutch tent! )

this obsession will never end ... never!

Sorry to disappoint but a Cobb won't cook christmas dinner. Well it might if it's indoors and out of the wind but in winter it struggles to maintain temperature long enough to cook a roast.

Take it from one who knows. I tried.

Last christmas, small beef joint. Gave up after 5 hours. Took it home the next day and finished it off in the oven. It was however the best beef joint we'd ever had after all that slow cooking!

I think the base with the holes that stays cool, in winter allows the cold air to cool it down too quickly. It needs a wind deflector.

We only have the one tent so far. But I have caught myself looking on ebay a couple of times this week at other ones.

Wahhhh how can I be so disloyal to our (still relatively new) bell tent!

Quick question though to all those people with 7+ tents, where on earth do you store them all? My garage is packed to the rafters and the bell tent has taken up residence in the spare room.

Dance before the storm and don't look back to where you've been.

If you can keep your head when all around you are losing theirs, you obviously haven't grasped the gravity of the situation.

I don't want it I just need it.

Well it's here!
Its quite big and heavy but not much heavier than the Minnie except for the ZIG which I think with the addition of a few poles you could camp under on it's own.
Don't let me try this , PLEASE !
Going up tommorow (Hubby has to mow the lawn first)
If son falls out with girlfriend ... well... I've given him the Coleman Waterfall so he'l be fine , no need to return home this winter.

It's up in the garden and it is SOOOO BEAUTIFUL ..
It's fantastic, warm , cosy, big enough and just brilliant
It actually PURRS ..hankakampa .. I am in love xx
I am chuffed to bits with this one... difference is amazing with the polycotton flysheet.
It's like the trailer tent but with the added bonus of ZIG
OberonFoto .. don't set me off please!!
A PINK HELLO KITTY ..? Mega?
WEEPS ...xx
They do accessories .. I googled ..

Seriously though, if it wasn't for the people on this site I would have had no idea a couple of years ago what to buy, how to pitch it, what to expect and the best advice for all the daft problems that can happen .
I actually thought a foot print was something you left outside the tent when it was muddy.
Now I have a Bear lake pitched in my garden in October..
Thank you
xx
