Embrace it, I for one love to go back to my simple one man tent and Trianga stove..get my tarp over the entrance to my small hovel (This doubles the undercover available) and chill out. The big stress key in my back soon winds down.

got to say after long break from camping and a bit of a change in the type of camping i.e. got a 2 year old so it car camping in the very near future rather than backpacking. I'd not heard of EHU until I started look at this forum
All my trips last year...Bar my main hols were done without EHU...Must say I really enjoyed them as its years since I have gone without...Focuses the mind...and makes you really think about issues re food storage and heating etc without EHU...I don't watch telly...listen to music etc when I'm off anyway so the issues raised by the OP don't really apply to me...EHU or not....
Off to GlenCoe for my 1st ever winter camp without EHU on Thursday so THAT should prove interesting......
