I like kitchen being in the tent or awning so I don't have to exit the tent to get something. If we are away less then 3 days, we just use the main area in our Montana 6P as a kitchen. If longer we need to take more cupboards for food etc so we take awning and use as dedicated kitchen/storage area. We have a gazebo that folds up but not something i would take camping, I would use in a garden or picnic in park/common yes.
