Oh, one final piece of advice - the type of stove you are looking at gets quite hot underneath - I've heard of people melting their groundsheet using these!

Wow... I have never heard of someone using one without a table.... Come on people! Common sense!

You would be surprised. Not saying anyone on here would do that, but the story I heard was the tent was loaned to the (teenage) kids, the kitchen was set up outside, but the stove got moved under cover when it started raining...

Personally I would only use one of these on a proper kitchen stand, a table might scorch - but thats just me.

Nice tent! Just googled it and it looks brilliant.

Well I hope you have a good time! May I ask what your plans are with the 18 month old in terms of sleeping arrangements? My partner and I are planning our first camping trip for the end of July (Just booked it in fact for 31st July to 4th August, then 5th August for a week as well at a different site!) and we have ourselves, a 5 year old, 19 month old and a 6 month old (Ages when we go). We are planning to take a travel bassinet and possibly Co-sleep if too cold for the 6 month old, a travel cot for the 18 month old and a SIM/Airbed for the 5 year old. (Obviously lots of blankets in case it gets cold)

Hi, sorry for late reply ..!

Sleeping arrangements .. hmm i have a plan in my head, whether it will materialise is another thing ...!
We were going to take the travel cot for her but after looking at the tent today when we bought it ( :-)))) i think it will be tight on space. So plan B, we actually aquired a toddler Disney Princess ready bed so im going to put her in that with her sleeping bag that she has at home in her cot with some extra blankets to hand if needed. Plus a blanket under the ready bed for extra warmth.

Either myself or my hubby will share a sleep pod with her, the other with my 4yr old boy, we will all be on air beds.
I just hope the weekend we plan to go she doesnt have another tooth coming through as shes been a nightmare teether unlike my little boy who sailed through teething!!

Having had lots of trouble with butane stoves I now have a multi fuel stove, which I run on unleaded petrol.

It is cheap to run and will run regardless of temperature. It seems more productive to me, i.e. hotter.

You need to take sensible precautions when using a stove like this, i.e put the flame to the fuel

Its a bit scary when you start but you soon get the hang of it.

It will always be in my camping kit in the future.

One would like to believe taking a smouldering charcoal BBQ inside a confined space such as a tent is lacking in common sense, however, it still happens, and with tragic results!
