We have EHU and just use our electric pump on suck instead of blow but we have to take the tube adaptor from our Henry hoover.

Photos of our set up are here, I take real carpet for the living area as the fleece tent carpet moved about so much and the sheepskin rug is just beside my bed which is behind the curtain.

In the trailer, there were three rolls (now down to two as think it was a bit OTT under the beds) approx 1.3m long and 30cm diameter when rolled up but as you can see from the loaded trailer there is still space if needed. I managed to bring home two camping chef plus stoves boxed, a three man tent and 5 small lanterns we won at the big camp admittedly the tent was sat on the front passenger seat as hubby was at work.

Oooooh loving all the ideas - thanks guys.

I've been toying with the idea of vinyl decals on the tent windows but don't know how durable they would be once the tent is put away - and I can imagine they would be a nightmare to apply.

Ordered some of that amazing double sided velcro to make attaching fairy lights easier, what a genius idea.

1st proper camp of the year that we have booked in will be a festival at the end of July but think I need a trial run before then to check everything is as amazing as I think it's going to be. I'm OD'ing on camping pron!

I take a dvd player and my kindle for entertainment (and to keep the kids quiet). We bought some folding boxes that have padded lids for stools, we use these as footrests and bedside tables. A lamp next to your bed on one of these? We go them from B&M, they were about #4 and fold up small. Like you i like comfort, so i vacuum pack all our bedding and anything else i can suck the life out of!

Hi. Can I ask how you suck the life out the vacuum bags to come home without a vacuum cleaner.
I was wondering this too.

We use an electric pump on suck, the same one we use to blowup the iinflatables. We have a battery powered one too, for when we don't have EHU. We use the inside of a cardboard kitchen roll tube, as the vacuum bags have varying sized holes to suck through! You can hook up the electric pumps to cars as well. I don't know what I'd do without vacuum bags! Keeps the camping gear nice and neat when at home too, they all live on the bottom bunk in my daughters room.

Interesting to see the glamped up tents, I thought it was just the 'bell tenters' that did all this!

some serious glamping going on here, not sure i would want to carry that lot though!

Different ways to glamp up my poly bell tent. I have to keep the amount of furniture down because I have to transport 2 kids, myself and all the camping stuff in a Seat Ibiza... So I love inflatable furniture and collapsible boxes! The inner, the patchwork throw, the low table (doubles as a transport box and hides clutter!), and the carpet are "homemade".

It's half the fun of it for us..

The Emperor

The Jamboree (Scout)

5 Metre Bell

Looking foward to trying out a few more setups this year. Regardless of what the weather outside is doing being in the tent should always be comfortable

Have fun, Nix - and applause for everyone else with such delightful set-ups! Having seen all these gorgeous pics, I have the urge to co-ordinate the soft furnishings and bedding I take camping - never quite got round to it so far, and that's something I can do very cheaply with fabric from my stash. Yippee! New tent, new look; should be fun. Might treat myself to making some bunting, even...

Not very grand compared to the beautiful photos above but I always like to have wild flowers. I go for a little walk (or stop on the way) and pick a small handful of whatever looks pretty and in flower with a little greenery. Obviously not to much or anything rare. This time of year it's cowparsley and long stemmed buttercups etc. I have an old jar that I put them in near the tent window. My family find it amusing but they always make me smile.

as and when we're having to replace items in our tent these days we've been trying to buy things that finally colour co-ordinate a bit...nothing too flashy as what we have has to work in both of our Outwell tents (one olive green and one mocha) so we've gone mainly down the black and pale grey/silver route so as to tie in with the Outwell tent detailing...the accent colour we've gone with to lighten things up a bit is a sandy cream...i'd love, more than anything else, to have a nice neutral carpet in the tent as well, but i spent days sewing our blue, green and black one together by hand and there's no way we're going to buy a new one until the one i slaved blood, sweat and tears over has finally given up the ghost and fallen to bits...!!
