Aww fab pics. We took Baxter for the first time in May and and he's coming again on our next trip. He absolutely loved it, our only problem was him barking at other campers and the dogs that were allowed to run around off lead. We went and got another windbreaker and he was fine after that.
My Labrador Max loves camping and has been with us several time. However we have to be careful not to tie him out too close from the guy ropes as he has a fondness for giving them a nibble.

Hi Brickiemum,
The crate has a cover on. Two sided, heat retention and heat reflection, for use at shows and racing. it has flip up front and sides depending on what door you are using. I have this one in the camper and permanently open on the long side, clipped to the crate bars so it doesn't move.
You can buy the crate cover from http://www.doghealth.co.uk/collections/cages-crates/products/dog-cage-cover
The base and lid were made by the man asleep in these pics lol! Powdercoated metal to match the awnings we have :)The base has a rubber bottom so it doesn't move around when driving and the lid is to give me a solid work surface. I don't believe you could buy this anywhere unless you know a welder fabricator who makes bespoke items...sorry :(
Couldn't be without it to be honest, and it fits into either our two night set up or the beast we take for longer trips.
I like to know they have a comfy place to be in bad weather etc and I also love having the worktop lol!
TCx

Vango and Outwell Tents > VW Camper and various Vango and Outwell awnings dependent on stay location and duration > Bailey Pegasus Grande SE Brindisi and Vango Air Awning.

Sorry, can't for the life of me get the link to work in the other post but it's working on this one...duh!
If you go on their website you will see the covers they do, and how they work with different combinations of openings etc. they use really strong Velcro for the sides. I have clipped mine to they bars so the edges don't flap while driving about etc.

To be honest some wood would do but this is like the base and has a lip so it stays in place and hold the cover in as well. Because it's powder coated its wipe clean as well. If we were nearer each other I'd get him to make one for you but we're at the opposite ends of the country! It's very heavy so couldn't really ship it :(
Hope you get something sorted as it really does make a difference having a proper hard surface as otherwise all that space would be taken up in the awning and be of no use if you see what I mean.
