the inner layer should be put up like a 'bedroom pod' there by giving you an air space between the flysheet and the inner.

That's what I feared would be necessary, the yurt is so small that there is not much space to give of inside... I'll try to make a new drawing and see what it will look like. It should be possible to fix the inner layer to the roof poles.

New idea: If I - instead for the protection sheets with the plastic backing - used some cheap felt blankets or throws??? At least they would allow condensation to pass through, so it can't be trapped between layers...

sounds good.... or just cotton...old sheets etc the 'linen' type are quite thick, if these were hung from the frame with minimal length ties onto pole hooks, then you would only loose an inch or so all round and still have an air gap between layers if out side skin is taught.

The problem is that I would love the construction with the trellis and the poles to be visible inside the tent, like in a real yurt. That means I only could put the "felt" layer on the outside of the construction, and the outer "plastic" layer directly on top...

Merry Christmas - or Ględelig Jul, as we say here - to you all!

perhaps some 'spacers' of some kind on the inner layer where it rests on the frames, befor the outer layer is applied

After all these drawings and the purchase of the trellis (which was cheap, luckily), I've found out that i can't have the yurt in my garden! The regulations for our houses do not allow to put playhouses, sheds and other small buildings in our tiny gardens, and my yurt is considered a building, not a tent !

So I am afraid the trellis will get used in a more "horticultural" way now, and I will have to go back to my PVC-pipe-tent plans...

I'll be back soon with new drawings!

'Tis indeed a shame!

keep on with your projects, Pingers, and keep on keeping us updated.

If it wasn't for folk like you, the world may well be saner.... but far less interesting!!
