Where did you find Vango saying not to use an electric pump... They did have one themselves but I think it worked out to much money.
I just pitched the Vango inspire, evoque and eclipse ony own and after only 5 weeks since a pretty big back op (went very well) using the electric pump. No problem at all and we used the pump all last summer on all the brands of tent with no issues. I think as long as you get the right pump with a pressure cut out setting etc you should be fine. Saying that I cannot comment about manufactures though.
