Right we have spent the past few hours looking at sites, acting on all your advise :-)We have narrowed it down to two sites Tregarton park Cornwall pl26 6nf and Watergate bay touring park tr8 4ad...... There is lots of attractions in between both these to amuse the kids. What do you guys think? God this has been hard work lol x

Both are in great areas. Watergate bay is lovely, we spent many holidays there as kids. It was always great fun walking down the the beach, but not so much fun on the way back up.

Both sites are still fairly large at over 100 pitches, and the Watergate one does show as having entertainment, so you might get post club drunken noise. Oh, just read this in a review from August last year for the Watergate one "This site reminds me of a Haven site without the half arsed teenagers in bear suits." So probably best to avoid that one!

Do you think you will use the pool? If not, might be worth looking for a slightly smaller site without one. Though the pictures of Tregarton do look very nice.

Mucker1884 What do you think of our final two choices?

In all honesty, lyndamum, you're now asking the wrong person! Not only have I thus far been unfortunate enough to have missed out on this part of the country, but at first glance, and admittedly only a quick glance, both still come across as "Holiday Parks", which for me personally, remains somewhat akin to the Haven (and similar) sites. Watergate in particular, with mentions of discos and live acts, entertainment, water park etc. Maybe less so for Tregarton.

Maybe for France, we'd go to a site like Tregarton, but that would be well away from school holidays and peak seasons. The park should then be only at half capacity, almost child-free, and the surrounding area would have to be "right up our street"!. Even then, I still think it's maybe too big, and too family orientated, for us.

I got the impression from your initial post that you were trying to avoid the whole "Holiday Park scene", and was maybe looking for something a lot smaller and quieter, and perhaps looking to keep the kids entertained mostly away from site, hence my suggestion of the camp site near Alton Towers.

If you do indeed still require on site entertainment, bars, and restaurants, and the possibility of having 100+ neighbouring tents around you, I'm going to have to leave it with you... in the capable hands of others who are so much more experienced in "this sort of thing"... but I still wish you all the luck in the world, and I hope you find the time to come on and report back to us (With pics, of course! ) at the end of hopefully, a wonderful holiday for you all.

Good luck.
