The retailer has said they will give me some decent pegs , and he also said that the ones they have in the shop don't have the Outwell pegs either ; so he will get onto the supplier they got them off . Looks like my tent is from a season which didn't get the E.P.S , doesn't explain why the bag has the label on though .
I'm happy with that solution though , will root through my other tents and make sure I take loads of proper pegs .

Had a proper test pitch today at a local campsite ; they were absolutely lovely , and think we'll be having a few overnight stops there even if it is just a few miles from home !
Took me under an hour to put the tent up , including hanging the full inner tent ( which wasn't as much of a pain in the bum as I thought it was going to be ) !
The dogs watched me from the shade of the car , and had a nosey round inside when I'd done pitching .
I am surprised how big the tent is , loads of space inside for us , and great head height throughout .
Confidence is now restored
I have a good selection of pegs from my old tent , plus new rock pegs and the ones I got from the retailer . That tent won't be moving when we go away on Monday
Took my camera but forgot to take any pics , will get some when we're away .
I even got an email back from Outwell saying to get the retailer to contact them to make a claim as the pegs should have been there .
Thanks for the advice guys on here , appreciated

I can understand its the principle of not having the pegs. However the Outwell Easy Pegging System is in my view, just an excuse to supply cheap plastic pegs.
Other then the colour of the green and black pegs there is no difference (and would make no difference where you put them) so why not just supply the steel anchor pegs as standard? Cost.
When I bought an Outwell tent 5 years ago they were supplying blue plastic pegs with their tents which, although not fantastic, were one up on the wire pegs that most other manufacturers were supplying at that time, and most still are. I don't think the cost of the pegs is an issue but it is a good sales gimmick to suggest that they are supplying 'special' pegs for different uses around the tent. It actually doesn't make the slightest bit of difference what pegs are used where and personally I would dump the lot and use rock pegs all round. I know others have their own preferences for pegs...whatever works for you.

I agree with you. I am going to invest in some better pegs for our Montana 6P, the awning, the extension and windbreaker once the pegs have all broken.
