Yes the cheap umbrella stroller was quite handy when we went for a walk, and it didn't take up too much room in the car.
Last year when it was very hot we took a small pop-up shelter and put it somewhere cool for the little ones to play in during the hottest part of the day, and my daughter (1.5. yrs at the time) ended up having her nap in it too! It was much cooler than the tent.
Those trugs are brilliant for everything.
We took the travel cot when she was a baby, but we just don't have room for it now, they take a lot of space in the car. Now she is 2 she on an air bed next to me so if she wakes in the night I can settle her and keep an eye on her temperature and add/remove blankets. We are all in a line in the tent bedroom, like peas in a pod - in this order:
8 yr old - 5 yr old - 2yr old - me - hubby
quite snug really!
