I have 6 kids and I have worn/ wrapped them all. I still wear my 2 year old and my 11 month. I don't leave the house without a wrap. We're off camping on Friday and I'm planning what slings to take. A couple of wraps and our custom rose and rebellion toddler and baby ssc's. I'm trying to decide if I'm brave enough to leave the pushchair at home (it's good for carrying stuff)

Yup - an ex baby-wearing Dad here! (my youngest is five)

We started with a baby bjorn, moved on to various ring slings, wrap slings, hotslings, macpac framed carrier and a beco.

If my wife were typing, this could be a very long post...

I think on balance we preferred the semi-structuredness of the beco...

Just had to add that your photos are fantastic & much fun & love to be had by mom & baby.

My kids are grown up now ...well youngest is 10 so not gonna start carrying / wearing her.

I did have an old style carrier that clipped on ...bit like a bra used it for as long as i cud swapping from baby to baby ( had twins ) was great having 2 hands to do other stuff & so much easier than a dbl pushchair. At 24 no more carrying them lol !!

Really brought a smile to my face thanks for the memories & wish you all great camping times with your kiddies .

I was going to leave my buggy behind - but squeezed it in just for carrying stuff and giving me a break when we were on level ground - it was wayyyy too hot and sweaty!!

Glad to see some peeps are carrying on hols, hopefully i'll bump into a camping babywearer one day - i'll be the crazy one smiling like mad at you haha!!

And thank you for your kind comments, my son is much more cuddly and snuggly than my girls, he's such in independent stroppy git most of the time so i cherish my slingy hugs because i know my days are numbered

I found my local sling library and will be borrowing an action baby sling for our holidays. Has anyone ever used one of these? I have been looking at trying to buy one second hand, but they seem in short supply. I think I also tried a mei tei with padded shoulders, which seem cheaper to buy. Has anyone used an action baby sling and liked it? Are there any others out there similar you could recommend? Thanks x

I think my library has an action baby sling but ive never used it. I had a mei tai when my little one was younger, just didnt seem to support as well as he got heavier but i know plenty that use them with older heavier children. again its personal preference.

Try looking at http://www.lovetobenatural.co.uk/
http://www.b2boutique.co.uk/
http://www.wearababy.com/shop

This should give you some idea about quality and different products :)
I have used an r&r (rose and rebellion) buckled carrier, a connecta buckled carrier, a snugiwraps mei tai, a hopp tye mei tai, a melkaj mei tai - and countless woven wraps :)I prefer a woven wrap in general for support and comfort but for quick use and smaller pack size i prefer my connecta. Should be able to buy for around £60.

If you are on facebook there is a whole world of second hand and preloved groups and selling pages, happy to send you some links if you are interested. xx

Thanks so much Lauren57. I managed to pick up te action baby carrier this morning, my three year old likes it more than my one year old. I am on Facebook, that would be great if you let me know of some groups. Can I message you through this website? xx
