I'm afraid it's a bit of an addiction .....

We also have a tent for every occasion, numerous chairs and accessories... eek!

But look at how much a foreign holiday would cost!

It's definitely not just you, in fact I had to check and make sure I hadn't posted this. About the only difference is we got the Eden 500 instead of the 600. Getting the towbar fitted shortly and picking up the trailer tomorrow (after we discovered it didn't all fit so well even with the new roofbox on our test camp last month!)

Except, as you say, as eye watering as the cost is up front, it's still cheaper than a fortnight away with all the children peak school holiday time, and it will last us for years and years. We could have bought a cheap tent but we would have just had upgrade envy and ended up actually spending more over the next few years, which is why we dived in with the Eden right off after loads of research. It seems perfect and fits us all fine!

And I'm really looking forward to just hitching up the trailer for a weekend and exploring more of the UK. We've got four young children so regular accommodation is a huge expensive hassle.. now we have our lovely tent!

2 weeks in Tenerife (4 star all inclusive, very nice thank you very much) £6000, 1 week camping in France €350. So er yes, camping is MUCH cheaper. Ok the camping gear cost around £1000 and there's your spending money, but still cheaper than your average summer package holiday and it's all reusable.

Yes it IS cheaper to camp and there are a huge number of advantages to camping that you can't put a price on, like getting to know the British countryside, not having to queue in a f*<{|^€ airport which is it's own particular type of Hell, the smell of the grass and the bacon, being able to get a decent cup of tea...

Haha it really never ends. Every trip, you decide that things would be sooooooo much better if only you had electric cool box/ another cupboard/ new stove/ new pillows/ doormat / better chairs.
We just had a lovely 3 night stay in north berwick and spent a fair amount of time checking out other people's stuff. Now I'm looking at tents when I have 2 perfectly good ones which I love
