Will never never ever pitch on even a slight slope again. Sites should be closed down, ruins holidays. I can put up with it but when taking the wife and granddaughter it is a bad experience for them and likely to put them off camping for ever. Extreme but true opinon.

We take those rubber door wedges with us, and have tried to buy tables/cupboards with adjustable feet :)

We recently camp on a slope for the first time.
I found I couldn't get the tent to sit right on one end, this meant the fly sheet and inner were very close together and when the rain came it meant the bedroom that end of the tent got wet. I'd never noticed it not sitting right before and put it down to the slope.

I usually use a bottle of Bacardi to level my bed. Vodka works well too I hear.

Sometimes, just one bottle isn't enough though...

Lemonade, Coke, Vodka, Baileys (Aldi version!) and Bacardi...

= one perfectly level food cupboard, which doubles as tea mashing table, with leccy kettle atop. Accuracy is paramount, for safety reasons, you understand!

Of course, the order of the bottles can be rearranged to suit the ground conditions... Oh, and the level of liquid in each needs to be adjusted too, as the tent settles!!

You've got that right mucker. Although my tent seems to need to liquids completely replacing mid week as it takes a good few days to settle properly.

Will you be camping in Holland in future. I believe its flat as a pancake.   Or will you be going to Counties which are flat, with no hills or mountains.
