We've used both but prefer duvets. We also use a fleece mattress protector with a fitted sheet over the top. Curious about the dry bags though - what size would you need for a double duvet and do you use them for pillows too? We tried the vacuum bags but one popped once on the way home much to our amusement as our son was next to it as it rein flated to full size!

I found the 40l a perfect size for a 13.5tog double or 10.5tog double and one single but not tried pillows.
I can easily answer this one after taking sleeping bags to our caravan at the weekend - because it would be easier than making up the bed and the caravan is not set up properly yet as site is not officially open for seasonals.
Had the most uncomfortable 2 nights sleep ever. Felt constricted. Every time I turned so did the sleeping bag. Hated it. Duvets all the way for me.
We have a Vango Starlight double sleeping bag, and love it! It is super soft and jersey/cotton like inside rather than the shiny, crunchy fabric some have, and it's wider than most other double sleeping bags we have tried, enough to flow off our double airbed and pool on the floor on both sides. I find a duvet doesn't 'feel' like camping to me, plus I find bags warmer.
I HATE sleeping in a single sleeping bag though, as I find them constrictive and they twist around - I wake up all night feeling trapped, and most other doubles I find just too small for two and I get all claustrophobic. But this double just stays put when you move and gives me room to fidget.
We love it so much that we sometimes 'camp' inside in the winter in the TV room to watch movies late at night, and always use the bag rather than our normal duvet, it's just so warm and soft!
