I agree with all of the above. Might be stating the obvious but have a plan for what you are going to do during the day if it is cold - especially if you have kids. If its not warm enough to sit around the tent and/or its raining have a plan to keep everyone busy.

And if they do predict a heatwave make sure you pack on the basis that they are going to be wrong. You can always leave the woolly hat/thermals/ski jacket in the car!
