When we go food shopping, one of us stays outside with the dog and the other goes in the supermarket. We don't go to malls when we're away, too busy chilling.

Independent shops are often more dog-friendly than chains, I find. The independent chemists where I live allow dogs in, Boots doesn't; WH Smith don't allow dogs but the local independent stationer/bookshop positively welcomes them and offers fuss, water and biscuits.

In Petworth, Mr Fran picked Lola up so she could look at all the lovely meat in the butcher's window, and the butcher saw her and gave me a nice bone for her. I thought that was really kind, and it kept her nice and busy of an evening!
