Wife is concerned about bathing 1 year old, normally at home we can shower her between us, 1 in shower and 1 waiting with towel, not sure how it would work in separate mens/ladies toilets, 5 year old really wants to go camping so trying to find a solution, any ideas?

Thankyou

Take a cheap paddling pool and bath her in that. I've also seen large trugs used or some sites have family bathrooms available

Thankyou, paddling pool or trug sounds good but maybe a family bathroom would be more stress free, maybe a bigger site is what we need to stop on i.e haven.

We had a double blow up air bed, tucked the cover underneath threw the kid (1yr old) in, threw the Mrs in then I got in, safe and sound. :-)

We've been camping with our son since he was 4 months. He slept in a Little Life ark - sort of dome tent come travel cot, with a gro bag sleeping bag. he is 6 now and still insists on squeezing into the ark!

We are planning on camping for the first time this summer with our 3 kids, ages 2, will be 4 and 5. I bought a travel bath last year but my son (2 year old) is so big now I'm not sure how much we'll use it (he's in 4-5 clothes). We got it for about £5 off ebay, it's sturdy but folds up small. Might be worth a look, this is the one we have:

Some sites have a family bathroom with a huge bath. Some have had babay baths.

One in Cornwall had a baby bath in the disabled bathroom which was actually a shower room. Baby bath filled and sitting on the floor and 2 children and i showered while tiny one sat in the baby bath near our feet. Was possible as whole room was a wet room.

Thanks all

JennD, older children for me just go under the shower so when are walking not an issue, we do this at home with our 4 year old for ease and quick showers.

Frazzle, we are looking staying at c & cc site at Scarborough which has a family bathroom so if my 1 year old daughter is not walking it will be ideal and stress free!.

We have three self-inflating mats which we put together into a giant bed for two adults, a 5 and a 1 year old (will be 6 and 2 this summer).

The older one has a sleeping n=bag of his own and the little one is in a grobag (must get her one with arms before we get out again in April). If its really cold they snuggle up close. We cosleep at home too so it's not different really.

At that little age, even if walking theylike to sit down in the shower or put fingers on the floor and play with the drain (yuk!)If you shower make sure you hold her.

Some sites have changing areas in the showers, where you can put clothes & or children on the seats. Place her there with a pot of something like cheerios or raisins to keep her busy & a suitable bath toy. Obviously if she won't sit still or too small a seat dont bother.

Just brought a peppa pig ready bed for my 17 month old. Never taken her camping. So it's going to be an adventure and should keep me fit.

getting geared up to start camping with a trailer tent and family,

Me & Good lady, boys of 10 & 5 and a 2 year old little lady.

Going with Travel Cot for start then will move 10 (by then 11) year old onto a camp bed so little one can use a kids sleeping bag and share with her brother.

Had not thought about the bath issue as we will only be doing weekends a facecloth clean will suffice.

One tip try camping in garden, kids will love it and you still have the comforts of home if you need em.

I did this when I first got the trailer tent with my son to see if he really liked it before our first weekend away.

We took a travel cot for our 1 year old last year it also came in use as a playpen when cooking or getting things organised. She slept in her growbag in the cot. Regarding bathing the site we go to has a disabled toilet and shower so I could shower with her and hand her out to my husband to get dried. Otherwise I fill up the basin with hot water and just sponge her down in the tent. Good luck relax and enjoy, I think kids sleeps better as they is outdoors most of the day.
