Invested in a trailer last year and keep it loaded in the back garden with a cover on it.
Keep the tent in the house though, under one of the beds.
Had to do this as we had a loft conversion last year so we were down on storage space.
Nowhere to keep a trailer. No drive, garage etc. Also, we like to get places quickly so towing is a no-no!
I'm happy with the loft solution. Think it will improve general storage as well as camping storage so it can go down as general expense not camping expense - just like the roof box.... ;) Everyone i've asked thinks the hatch in the living room will only be noticed by weirdos so I think that's ok!!

I have just had a man around to see about getting our loft boarded and a ladder put in so that I can move the kit in and out of the loft by myself... the quote for the lot if £1600. Does that seem about right? Apparently they are going to have to cut the boards to fit around joists of trusses or something.
The former Mr Fran, who was a carpenter, boarded out our loft in about 8 hours. We priced up a space-saving extending ladder at around £200 and he reckoned it would take him about a day to fit it, including making a completely new hatch (the existing one opens inwards, so all the frame etc would have had to be redone).
If that includes making good the ceiling, I'd say £1,600 isn't too bad.
