We use two single air beds, strapped together with rope, top and bottom, and slide three foam mats under the ropes.

For many years we used the canvas box type airbeds on top of camp beds, was as comfy as my bed at home! Last year we changed to Outwell Dreamcatcher 10cm SIMs and they are very comfortable. With a camp bed you also get additional storage space underneath.

I did consider the idea of thinner SIMs and camp beds. But thought that's just more money than just sims.

Is it worth doing for the larger SIMs to get a couple of inches extra width? Neither of us need extra length.

I use a foam mat on an airbed, it's never slid off and they completely block the cold from seeping through. My partner has just started using the zempire slumberlite 10cm sim which he finds more comfortable as he has a bad back.

We ended up with Thermarest Luxurymap large, and had a really good night's sleep on them. Top tip is not to over inflate them.

We have been using an Outwell double dreamboat 12cm. We bought it back in 2018. It's a big piece of kit even while folded, but after over 50 nights sleeping on it we have never had a bad night's sleep.It was pricy so I had to think long and about it, but a good night's sleep is money well spent.I would highly recommend.
